Lovely surprise to find Tall Bearded Irises

It’s always a lovely surprise to find Tall Bearded Irises in bloom as we wander around the patch in Winter. These two are open now – both are our seedlings. One a gold and honey colour, the other a stunning black. There is a white that has four stalks and buds that are very close to opening.pic5pic6

Season’s first sign

The first sign that the season is starting is that the winter Iris (stylosa) is flowering. With this flowering we will have flowers in the garden till after February.

The picture might not look much just yet but the flowers increase to a stunning display .Our Camellia is flowering now and has the most delightful smell; it radiates over the garden
